Hi! My name is Jake, and I'm an addict!! I've acquired a severe case of Rifle Addiction Deficit Disorder - RADD. Counciling has been a failure as the "ENABLERS" started showing me shiny objects after asking a simple straight forward question. I thought I was finally in a state of remission after not buying anything rifle related in a month. Other than my McMillian for the 338-06AI which is 4-6 months out. The last thing I bought was a new Chrony.

I did go to a local gun shop with a friend the other day in which he bought a tactical shotgun and I had the opportunity to handle a new M70 sporter in .270 Win with a tag on it for $710. I was very impressed that I didn't walk out with anything.

So I did something silly today. Picked up a M77 MKII VT in 22-250 with the brown laminate stock and a Nikon 6-18X40 Buckmasters scope for $600. I really needed that rifle like I needed another whole in my head. But at $600 I couldn't pass it up knowing I could sell the rifle for that right now if not more and the scope for $250 or more. So I let myself buy it because it would be a "good investment".

I'd really like to Thank David and Fotis for showing me all these shiny objects and temporarily fix my aliment (3-4 days). Now that my weak moment has passed I will be needing a set of dies for 22-250 looking for a redding deluxe set so when I eventually AI it all I need to buy is the new body die. I will also be putting in an order shortly at Powder Valley for 3 kegs of powder and 10 boxes of Nosler Custom Varmint 22-250 55gr BT. As I can get that for $217.50 versus $160 for the 200 pieces of brass.

Step to the front porch, pull the trigger on a rifle or two and call me in the morning. Well, two out of three ain't bad. Don't bother calling, unless you need to buy something more.

Jake you came to the right place brother. We can't guaranty that you can be cured here! But what you get is all the understanding and support you need. Now let's have your therapy by talking about your 22-250.

Nicely done Jake.
Should be a nice shooter for you.
Varget and RL 15 are both good powders for the 22-250.

Rifles are a much better investment than the stock market!! Less flucuation and it's a tangible asset. I can hold it in my own hands. It's one of those rifles as a kid I always looked at and said I need one of those. Now I have one. Can't wait to get it and try it out. It's got a nice 26" barrel on it too so it should really scoot!

Way to go Jake! The first step in curing an addiction is to recognize you have one. Unfortunately there is no cure but we will be here to support your endeavors - However misguided they are. Enough about you - got any picts of that sweet rig?

Way to go Jake, as always, glad we could be there to help in any way possible! The trick on this RADD disease I believe is to do it as I have done so far and have been able to resist getting that .280 Remington! I get you guys suckered into getting a new rifle and for a short period of time, my urge to rush out and purchase a 280 Remington are silenced. Only for a short period of time though and then it's off to find another victim...........friend to help out! :p

David

David,

You have absolutely no excuse. Jake has just done you a service, my friend.

I suppose I deserved that one.

Deserved it? You practically begged for it. Man up, David, and bid on one of those .280s. I kinda like the wood stock.

I agree! It would be mean to not even bid on them....

Whoa, whoa!

Am I to understand David has no rifle chambered in .280 Remington?

Nope, he says what a Skookum cartridge is, but no rifle? What the heck is the world coming to?

I believe David is avoiding this thread at the moment, hoping it will turn again to something other than his failure to possess a .280 Remington.

Oh I don't mean to ignore you guys, it's just that I STILL am not getting e-mail updates when you guys start driving the bus over me! :p River Rider I "had" a wonderful .280 Remington in a 700 MTN Rifle that I needed to part with for cash at the time and besides, I wanted a controlled round feed like the Winchester Model 70 or the Ruger Hawkeye (which is chambered in it this year in stainless and wood laminate - oh my!).

I had one too David, and it was one handsome rifle. The problem was that rifle would pound the living snot out of me. I replaced it with a 77 Mk.II in .280 which may have weighed up to 1/4 pound more. It had very nice manners and was kind to me. I don't think it was the extra four ounces of weight so much as the Mountain Rifle just had an evil personality. I was not sad to see it go down the road!

Hi Jake, I know that I am a little late but I believe that there is no known cure for what ails you  but again I don't think that is a bad thing

Blessings,
Dan
