Just thought I'd share this. Since my freezer is full, I've resorted to shooting hogs with my camera. Although, I did get within 50 feet of one of the black ones, but couldn't tell if it was the sow or boar, so I didn't shoot it with my rifle.

Thanx and ....I hate you!

Did I mention it was around 80- 90 degrees on Sunday and about the same today, Monday.

As for the full freezer, be it elk, deer or pork, a single guys can only eat so much. I will be out this weekend trying to get some pork for one of the guys that work for me.

Got another hog on 29 Mar. Nothing to special, a boar weighing 120lb dressed. Now the importance of this to me was first kill w/the 300RUM and the 200AB load, secondly it's my longest shot/kill to date - 290yds. Held dead on, bang-flop. Bullet hit the right front, shattering the bone, across the chest and then took out the left leg before exiting. I'm really begining to like my 300RUM. I guess I'm a recoil junky as this thing doesn't bother me to shoot.

POP, take some leave and come on down to VAFB.

I'll be over to your place come sunday. It would be nice if you had some Bar-B-Q beans to go with the fresh pork ready. Nice hunt and nice hogs Congrats.
Good Hunting! (as if you needed luck)
elkhunt

Hey Rich,
Bet big on this one. boars rarely run with smaller pigs, and she looks like she has had more weight on her.
Nice pictures, like Lompoc as well.
Hardpan.

I didn't shoot any of the hogs in that picture. This was in a different area. Those two in the pics were sows (I'm not the first one to watch this family of hogs).

Well, hope you don't mind Shake 'n Bake pork steaks, as I have found this to fantastic, especially the BBQ Shake 'n Bake.

A friend, the guy in the pic, and me went out last night and he was able to get this 84lb sow.
I hope no one take this as bragging, we are just very fortunate to have Vandenberg Air Force Base as private land to hunt on.
