I saw on another site a weasel ball decoy so I tore apart a weasel ball the other day and decided to make a decoy out of the internal workings. Basically I took the top off, removed the weight attached to the motor, drilled a 1/8" hole in the bottom, installed a 1/8" rod and epoxied it in, paint and attach the decoy.

Sorry for the poor pic quality, I will take some better field pictures in the morning.

that should work. I used to make predator decoys out of dried and salted fox squierrel skins, would fold them over a tennis ball for some depth. They work great but keep your eyes out for birds, had a few stolen by hawks.

That looks like a winner. I've been meaning to try one with my calling to see how much it helps with the ones that hang up a few hundred yards out. Not that I can't shoot a few hundred yards, but its fun to get 'em in close.

Just went through my teenager daughter remaining "old toys". Can you believe she actually got rid of her weasel ball!  . Seriously, did you try it without taking out the weight? That would really "randomize" the motion. If I'd of thought of putting hers on a stick I would have appropriated hers years ago. Will the motor noise put off a cagey coyote? Let us know. CL

That is pretty cool! Can't wait to break out the caller this year. Gotta get the 22-250 tuned up! Scotty

I've been using a crow (or goose) feather that hangs off of a carbon arrow shaft. I hang it with 10lb test mono and it'll bounce around in about a 3-4mph breeze. It holds their attention pretty well... and acts as a little wind flag too.
