I'm hoping to have the chance to turn a wolf inside out with my 444 out in Montana this fall. I have two loads made up for it with a 265 gr Hornady FP and a 240 gr Sierra HP. I'm going to opt for the Hornady since we'll be in bear country and use the Sierra's around here for coyote.

That is a couple of good looking loads. My experience with wolves is that they don't give you many shots, and assuredly don't give many close shots. They are very wary critters.

Very nice! Hope you can lay one down. That 444 looks real good. Check out the Sierra 250 FPJ. Very robust bullet.

Both loads are very accurate, if I'm lucky enough to shoot one it will be with the 280 Rem. I carry the 444 on the hike to and from camp and packing any meat out.

tecumseh - I wonder if you have enough horsepower there??  They should work very well for you. Nice to see you have the .280 Remington as a backup too my friend! Nothing better. Some as good but nothing better!!

Those are 2 good looking rounds. I hope that you get to connect in Montana. Lots of photos along with a good story if possible .

Blessings,

Man I Adore my 444. Older 1:38 twist. Shoots like wildfire!

I've taken a few deer and a couple hogs with it in southeast Georgia and it stopped em in their tracks!
