I traded off an old M98 - 8mm and a Taurus Tracker 44 w/some cash for the Savage 16 Bear in the 300WSM. I put Weaver rail on with the 6 hole rings. On top of all that is my 3.5x10 BC Leupold VX-L. It needed a cleaning bad! It's all cleaned and trigger adj. I loaded 20rnds of Hornady 190 BTSP to break in the barrel. In about an hour I should be heading to the pit with the 300, 243 and 17HMR in tow for some shooting.
Here is a pic as it sits now.

It may end up with a Vortex PST before it's over.
I should comment that the fit and finish is by far the best on a Savage as I've seen before. The metal to stock is straight, action is smooth and accu-trigger is ...well an accu-trigger. All that I've felt feel pretty good.
A buddy who is a 700 and a Sako fan is pretty surprised how the lines on the new Savages are so clean. Not so clunky with side bolt locks and big gnarly barrel nuts and a matt finish. Matter of fact after today I bet he will be buying one of these. He is in the need of a 30 cal anyway.
