If it's only 20 to 30 shot in a span of several hours then that would not be a problem. Heck I can handle that even with my 300 Weatherby shooting the 180 grain pill. :)

How tough are those rock chuck by the way? I once read an article by Bob Hart in Precision Shooting Magazine hunting those chuck with 30 Hart I believe. He was sniping those Pennsylvanian chuck at extreme distances with 180 grain Ballistic Tip at over 3000 fps. Now that would be fun.

They aren't that tough, but It's fun to turn them inside out. I have more fun laying out in a field shooting chucks than just about anything else. My wife also loves to go with me. She glasses the field with my spotting scope and uses the rangefinder to give me distance. We have a great time together.

That sounds like a great time!

The 30 Hart = 300 WBY Improved?

I have been off work for a few days do to my injury(check off topic forum), and have been brainstorming over a new varmint gun. My 22-250 is freakin awesome, but I'm looking to build a big brother for it. Something that will reach out there and buck the wind well. My 22-250 is good to 500 yards, so looking for something from there out.
Here are my ideas:
6 BR
6 Dasher
30 BR
6.5x284
300WSM

I want something that is easy on recoil, reloading cost, and case life. Anyone have any experience with these calibers or other ideas? Name your perfect 500yd and beyond chuck killer!

Throw a 1-8" spout on your existing 22-250 and have it chambered 22-250AI. With a 200yd zero it is sub 21MOA to 1K,with a 75A-Max,with 7.2MOA of 10mph full value wind at like distance. Recoil is nill,it fairly electrifies stuff and is a hoot in all regards.

The 243AI is a literal Giant Killer and the new Hornie 105HPBT and it's .530BC do not suck at 3200fps+.

Hint.
