I'll happily take it!

I traded my 270 WSM for a custom Rem 700 22-250 a few weeks ago. I didn't really need a 22-250, but I thought that the wife might enjoy it. She only shoots my 280 AI now and something a bit lighter in the recoil department will boost her self esteam when it comes to shooting. It came with the black stock on it. I took it to the range to do some load work with it jsut to make sure it shot. I wanted to make sure it shot good before I did something special to it for her.

Here is what I got:

55gr Varmagedon over some Big Game doing 3550.

So, now that I know it shoots, I sent it off to my smith to have him make it "hers"

Here is what we came up with:

We put some purple webbing on it, then added just a bit of grey webbing. It looks really cool! She really likes it, but has not got a chance to shoot it or see it in person yet. She is working on some schooling, and hase been gone for the last few weeks. Three more weeks till her and the kids come home.

Jake, that thing looks very cool. Hopefully the wife won't see that, as she will want her 308 dolled up too! Great work and it looks like a great little shooter!

Jake,

Pretty nice to fide a load right off the bat, way to go!
The rifle looks great, I'm sure your bride will be happy!

You should give the .224 cal 64 gr BSB bullet a try, its very tough even at 22-250 speeds.

Jake that sure is pretty looking. I'd even tote that thing around myself! Very nice group. Who says those Remington's can't shoot?

Jake is that consistent? !!!
If it is holy cow!!!!!

Nice nice post and appreciate the pic.

As soon as harvest is over I'll confirm. The velocity spread was only 15 fps so things are looking promising.

I would pack it as well!

Thanks

With those colors, I thought those were some of BK's rifles...

Great shooting. The good ol' .22-250 can be one heck of an accurate rifle. Looks like you've got a good load already.

Jake,
That is a cool looking iron! It is even sweeter when they shoot like that!

Pretty neat looking gun :) is that a light sporter? It looks lightweight from what we can see, if the twist is fast enough the 75 gr Swift Scirocco would make a dandy deer load along with the 64 gr BSB Jim mentioned.

You did a fine job and I'm not surprised your wife likes it. And man that thing can shoot. 8)

It has a 25" Shillin varmiter on it.

I was planning on going out tonight to double check the load along with my STW, 280 AI, and shoot the 270 Weatherby for the first time, but by the time I got off work and got everything together, I ran out of daylight :( Maybe I'll have better luck tomorrow.
