If you had $1300 for a rifle which one?

That is with one powder. There are other powders that would perhaps be better.

Seems like a pretty sweet round Mike. Can't imagine it wouldn't be an excellent addition to the WSM line up. Scotty

Hitting any BG animal with a 250 gr, .366 bullet at 2700 fps would impress that animal greatly, IMHO.

Charlie, I think you would like the WSM's a bunch. They have good capacity and most of the ones I have came across have been very good shooters with little work. Tough brass and just great performance from a 24" barrel. I know I am pretty wrapped up in them for the above reasons. I still like the regular WM cartridges, but if I had the WSM's back then, I wouldn't have the WM's I do now.. Scotty

I can name at least one other oddball around here!

Whoa Kurt, it is too early for name calling just yet. I think we have to wait till 1200L EST before we do that around here. That 9.3WSM does sound pretty cool though! Scotty

Just pointing out the phrase "if you can't laugh at yourself..."

I had a Browning Medalion A-Bolt .300 WSM. My son needed an elk rifle when he moved to Wyoming. He has my .300 WSM now. I have nothing against the WSM's. The one that I had was very accurate, dispite having a brutal recoil rap because of light weight and a hard pad. It kicked more than my .340!

I figure with the .340, the damage at the other end is worth the damage at my end!

Good point Charlie. Forgot about you having the Browning. Hopefully we can talk you into the 270WSM or something fast like that! Scotty

Nice X-Bolt!

Scotty, here is that ugly word again "justify" but I have a .270, .280, and a 7mm mag. I am not sure what I need a .270 WSM for except that it would be another fun, long range deer rifle. That caliber would probably be a great choice, if I did get another rifle. Plus, two of those rifles which I have are custom stocks which I won't sell and I do hunt with. I would really like to have a .257 Bob also but that is not going to happen in a Model 70, at least not presently.

I would like to have a Super Grade Model 70, .270 WSM with nice wood though. Hmm! Maybe for an old guy, the Tooth-Loss or Tooth-Less Fairy will bring one?
