Just came home from lower Michigan and stopped by Jay's in Gaylord. I told my wife, after reading what guys said about nothing left on the shelves in other sports stores, there probably would be nothing left but a few crumbs. We got there and as usual the parking lot was full. I found a place to park and went in heading right for the reloading section ready to be disappointed.

I was really surprised! Lots of powder, bullets, primers and with all the people there I was the only one looking at the stuff. And no price gouging. Primers were the same price as always $39.99 a brick. Powder (Benchmark) was $25.99. Bullets for .223 was anywhere from $17.99 to $20.99 a box for 55 gn .223. Granted I see prices lower than these on the internet but if I bought the same stuff up here it would have cost me $30.00 more. The only thing they were out of was .223 brass and that doesn't seem to be uncommon.

So, a brick of primers, a couple pounds of powder, and few boxes of bullets came home with me.

So it's not all bad out there.

There does not seem to be a supply problem up here yet. I have most of the essentials already  but I did receive a gift certificate from the local shop for Christmas so I am going to pick upp some RL 22 and see if it will make me forget about IMR4350.

Blessings,
Dan

I am caught up now!!! Good for a year at least on powder and a lifetime of primers and bullets. (course I am old). Having said that, 1 pound of H-4350 came from 120 miles away (my sister) and the other from 360 miles away (children). The stuff is still out there but a little here and there.

Here, the usual places for good prices are getting bare (same as 22LR). One shop really close to me still has huge amounts of stuff, but they also charge considerably for it and always have.

Lots of bullets at the local store.Mainly Sierra's stuff. Very little Nosler inventory on hand ever.
Primers had been hit hard but I still got 500 for less than $20.00.
Powder shelf on the other hand had been hit hard. Picked up some H4831 and another can of RL22 just because.
I was going to go to Cabelas (got a $50.00 gift card for Christmas) but you could not get in the parking lot,,,,,,

Locally the ARs, magazines, and handguns had been picked over pretty well, primers and powder were in stock. They didn't gouge at all. I'd rather buy in bulk online over cleaning out the local supply.

I just picked up 1000 CCI 200's and a can of H 4350 today since the last time there was panic buying in the U.S. it took us about 1 year up here before things got back to normal again.

Sportsman's warehouse here was out of most brass and primers. I bought a pound of powder with no problem. The bullet and ammo stocks were OK. Anything AR was flying out the door and 223 ammo is scarce to none. It looks like another dry year. On the good side there is a lot of real cheap survival stuff on sale from the Mayan dooms day shelters.

Good one

Guess there is no reason to buy a 223 anytime soon, won't be able to get brass and ammo very easy.

Other than Black guns everything is getting resupplied here. More or less.

Only have noticed the stocks on the shelves of SR primers were lower than the rest. But that's not saying they just didn't have time to restock.

I bought 3k WLR primers yesterday, now if Powder Valley would get some more 8# jugs of powder in stock I might make it through the summer. We are pretty much out of primers in this area and down to 1# jugs of powder./ Still got plenty of rimfire ammo last I checked but all the AR stuff is gone.

Went to Cabelas in Allen, Tx today.
Only rimfire ammo was 22lr birdshot, 22 Mag, and 17HMR.
The only 224 bullets were Barnes and a couple of boxes of 60 gr NPTs.
Powder? Lots of H4350, and RL 15/17/19/22. Everything else, wiped out.

I've stopped at several Cabelas over the years and was never impressed with their selection or quatities of reloading equipment or supplies. I guess thats why if I order from them I get the items from all over the place.

I tried to order 4 bulk packs of Hornady .308 150gr FMJ/BT this morning from Natchez. Made the order along with some other supplies. Went to order more for my BIL an hr later and they were sold out. I hope my order made it through.

I ordered some pistol ammo which showed "in stock" from Graf's on Dec 19. I still have not received shipping or B/O confirmation. I know that they are backed up on shipping several days, finger's crossed.

Went to Sportsman's Warehouse here in Tucson yeasterday after church. Not a smallpistol primer in the house, There were a few magnum large pistol primers and Magnum rifle primers but that was about it. They said they had no idea when more would be coming in. :(
I didn't bother to look as what guns were left. I didn't feel ike digging throught the 4 deep mob at the gun counter. I'm in pretty decent shape regarding componenets except for small pistol primers so I can make do Just depends on what the powers that be get away with I shsoulf imagine. :x
