Jay's 2009 Utah Black Bear Taken With Nosler Accubonds

After 7 weeks of hard hunting Jay was able to take this great Utah Boar. We rigged him with our Plotts and got him going. We had some good friends and several packs of great hounds ready to go. The dogs put him up and we got a bunch of hounds to the tree. Jay's 300 Winchester with 180 Accubonds did the job. Hunting these big bears with the dogs is a challenge. Beautiful bear and in good shape it appears. Congratulations to the hunters. I never hunted with hounds, but the videos I have seen reveal that it is a great hunt.

Nice bear!! Didn't even know Utah had a huntable population of bears.

Sure wish they'd bring back the dogs in Oregon..

Never hunted with dogs, but a few of my buddies are getting into it. I need to call them up and see if I cant tag along on a bobcat hunt or something this winter. Looks like a ton of fun.
