Joined the Glock club today

I picked up a police return Glock 23 (Gen 3) at a gunshow today.

I like it....I've usually not warmed up to Glocks, but the 23 fits me nicely.

Suggestions for ammo? I'm thinking of reloading for it, too.

I had a 23, one of my sons has it now. It was a great gun and shot well. Be careful about the reloading with fired brass unless it has an aftermarket tube.

The only Glock I care for is the one people generally hate the most....the G36...its my CCW and it fills that role well....it is darn near as accurate as my Baer 1911, it has never failed to fire, feed, or function in any way...and its very lightweight, easy to carry and conceal.

If I had to complain about it I guess it would be recoil...I carry 230 grain +P ammo (Hornady TAP) and it bucks a little when you shoot it, but I tend to hit where I'm aiming so...nothing really to complain about.


I was a hard sell on Glock too...but after getting the G36 and taking the time to get used to it (after carrying a 1911 for about 14 years)...you won't find anything else on me for a CCW.
 
Tom, I never have owned a Glock but I do have a Charter Arms Pit Bull .40 S&W, 5-shot. I am shooting the Hornady Critical Duty .40 S&W 175 grain Flexlock which has the plastic plug in the hollow tip @1025 FPS, to assure penetration through clothing. These rounds cost about $.80/each and at that rate, I will wait to reload them as I do not have a turret press to do so rapidly. This gun is one of my three CCW revolvers, plus one very small .380 auto. The .40 S&W is serious business compared to a 9mm.
 
Just ordered 3 mags from Natchez. $20/ea if you order at least 2. $70 shipped to my door for 3 Glock factory 13-rd mags. Not bad.
 
Two Glock's at this house.
Mine = Glock 23, 40 cal. three full capacity mags
Hers = Glock 27, 40 cal. two full capacity mags.

I need to start loading for the two Glocks as I retire my two 357's,
a Colt Trooper", 6' Barrel (Blue and like new),
a S&W Model 66 (Stainless), 4" barrel
Well not COMPLETELY retire them just don't use them as much now.

There is nothing wrong with having a good variety with a lot of ammo when the SHTF
and of course, just for fun.
 
A Glock 23 is what I want next. I currently have the 21 & 30, with latter being my ccw.
 
I currently only have one in the stable, G19. I had a G21 for a while and a G20 Longslide, but sold them a few years back.

Next on the list is a G30 for CCW for two legged varmints. I will CCW the 19 as a woods carry gun.
