I am not sure if DrMike has posted today but if not? I wonder if him, Gil & Noah are Pink Mountain again ??

Blessings,
Dan

Hopefully he is giving Noah some instructions on how he should be dragging Mike's deer back to the truck ;)

When I'm not working hard on writing (book and sermons), editing television programming and preparing to teach a hand loading course, I'm in the field. I've spent at least one day, and usually two days in the bush each week. I've never witnessed the dearth of game I'm witnessing this year in the Otata and Salt Ridge and Puggins area. I'm cutting ample fresh tracks of elk, moose and deer (lots of bucks moving now) in every valley, but they are fully nocturnal. Simultaneously, I'm cutting tracks of wolf packs in every single valley. I've never witnessed this volume of wolves in this area. My son-in-law and Noah are insisting that it is time for us to do some dedicated wolf hunting. I'm inclined to believe they are correct. We hunted hard all morning and saw nary a buck until returning home. We saw three small herds of mulies in three fields on private land. Every trek into the bush is cutting tracks--fresh tracks--or wolves. We are taking record numbers of grouse, however. Noah has taken grouse each time we've gone out. I picked up a Remington 870 28 gauge from Gil's wife, Susan. Noah has repeatedly attempted to lay claim to it. So far, I've successfully fended him off. Don't know how long I can prevail in this contest, however. He's somewhat persistent.

Hang on to that 28 ga as long as you can! I've still got one (A Winchester Model 12) that my grandfather handed to me in 1966 when I was a young lad.

It still kills grouse and such just fine.

Noah loves it. He is beginning to handle it with quite a bit of finesse.

Thank you DrMike for your report. It really sounds like it is tough slugging up there for you & that is too bad. Still glad to see you are being persistent it is just a matter of time until one of you connect!! (y)

Blessings,
Dan

Sounds like the wolf pressure has everything out of site and out of mind, feeding at night and bedding all day.

ooooooh, that is a nice gun Guy. I had a model 12 in 20 gauge all tricked out with a vent rib and a real nice piece of wood. Sold it and regretted it ever since.
