Lentil Soup And Grilled Cheese

My wife makes lentil soup regularly. I like to put a tablespoon of sour cream in mine.

Have you ever tried using mayo instead of butter on your grilled cheese? Gives it a nice tang.
Ooh, I haven't, but that sounds like it could be good. I'll have to try that next time I make a grilled cheese.

Lentil soup?

My only memory of lentil soup is coming back to camp after climbing El Piacho Del Diablo in Baja California... A 10,000' peak that takes a couple of days of hiking rough country, then a day to summit... We got back to camp and the woman who was tasked with dinner that night (we all took turns) made lentil soup. It was good, but took hours while we hungry young climbers wanted chow NOW. Pretty funny. It was very good when finally ready late in the evening.

Sorry for the trip down memory lane. I think that's the only time I've eaten lentil soup, back in the late 1970's when I was doing a fair bit of climbing.

Regards, Guy

Looks great. I love grilled cheese. We had made some potato soup with crumbled spicy Italian sausage, potato, carrots, celery and kale from our garden. Tastes great, we make soup weekly to keep up with the 6 kales we planted in the raised beds.
I like to spray a little olive oil on kale, helps it slide off the plate into the trash easier
