Lets See Your 6.5's!

This is my daughter's Rem 700 .260 SPS that i put in a CDL wood stock. Bedded the action, floated the barrel, squared the bolt face and put a Timney trigger in it. It's topped with a Leupold VX5HD and looks like the twin of my 25.06 CDL. She loves this rifle and has harvested quite a few deer with it. It accurate and a pleasure to shoot, she lets me use it every now and then :).
Two sharp looking rifles. What recoil pads are you using?

Those are the stock recoil pads that came on the CDL.
After you said that, I went back looked again, and saw "Remington" on them-Wow.
They look like good recoil pads.
What bullet do you use on your daughter's 260 for hunting?

Handsome rifles, to be sure.

She started out years back using the Nosler 120gr BT and it performed great on deer but we ran out and they became extinct. We had to find something else so we went with the Sierra 120gr PH and it shot so well that we never tried anything else. It's accuracy and performance on game mirrored the BT so that's what she has used since. When we got the load we wanted I ordered 10 boxes and have purchased several more boxes when they were available so shes set probably for her lifetime.

The only 6.5 anything I ever owned was a Mannlicher-Schoennaur 1903 in 6.5x54. A really neat rifle. It never liked the 140 gr. Norma ammo but with the 160 gr. round nose was a real kill but somewhat slow. Darn thing would penetrate a deer from nock to noodle and keep on going. Back around 1975, some low life broke into my truck and stole that rifle. I did find a replacement of sorts, a Ruger M77 RSI. It had the same feel and handling that I'd had with that 1903 Mannlicher. The Ruger is chambered to the .308 Win.

Quickly becoming a favorite for whitetail and coyote is the 6.5 Grendel. We built a couple, 1 for my daughter and 1 for myself on AR platforms. With the 123 SST they really punch above their weight class for the deer and 'yotes. Still have the High Country 6.5 PRC, and it’s proven insanely accurate with pretty mild recoil, and a deer/bear thumper with the ABLR and Partition. It’s also become Haley’s new favorite.

Love the pink accessories. (y)
Mike, if you zoom in you'll see its a polymer lower and she took the Punisher skull and added a hair bow and had it laser engraved on the lower. Also had to get an extended mag release because her fingers are too short to reach the mag release button without taking her hand off the grip

Hunter, I got a box of 6.5 Grendel I picked up along with some other ammo a while back. American Eagle 90 grain JHP TNT Varmint and Predator. Kind of forgot I had them until I seen your post. If you'd be interested in them, make me a reasonable offer and they're yours. Box of 50.
