Anybody have any experience with this particular model. Looking to maybe get one for use on a varmint rifle as I don't care for 30mm main tubes, but still want parallax adjustment, thanks.

Yes, I have two 6.5 X 20 Leupold EFR scopes. I really like them.

I bought them thinking that the EFR scopes might be a little tougher than the regular scopes. They are designed to take recoil in both directions. They are advertised as being great on air guns. Air guns tend to tear up most scopes because of the reverse recoil from the spring action.

I have had my two EFR scopes for a number of years now and they have been on numerous varmint hunts. They have been on several prairie dog hunts where other shooters scopes have given up the ghost while being 1500 miles from home.

I highly recommend the EFR line of Leupold scopes. Like you, I am not crazy about the 30mm scopes.

Brad,

Why don't you like the 30mm tube, weight?

I recently bought a Mark 4 4.5x14PR and really like it. It is bright.
I mounted it on my 280 AI to play around at longer ranges.

Call me crazy, but I think it detracts from the lines of my rifles. I'm very picky as Pop can attest to. I once returned a Zeiss scope because the windage/elevation turrets wouldn't fit perfectly between the rings. The scope was a little long and the turrets had to be placed almost to the front rings so I would have proper eye relief. I have nothing against 30mm main tubes, I just think they look a little bulky on top of my rifles.
