I just bought a new VX3 4.5X14X40 LR and noticed something different than my older VXII. On the underside in front of the dials there is a small recess about the size of the end of a paper clip, does anyone know what this is for? I checked four different models all LR before I bought it and all of them had it??

Anyone out there?

I know some people have these new scopes or has anybody noticed it on the bottom of the main tube. I know it isn't just mine all the scopes at bass pro had it.

Not sure I understand what you are describing.
Can you post a picture of this?

Thanks for the replies. I am not that great with the pictures so I called Leupold instead as Pop suggested. They told me it is detent for the erector assembly inside the main tube, I think he said a spring or something rests on it. I just thought it odd it is visible on the outside of the main tube they said completely normal and will must likely be covered by my rings.
