they changed the vari-x's to the vx's so M1 turrets would fit them, then they quit using M1's, dropped the mark 4's so they could sell the HD's at a substantial profit increase, I'm about done with loopy

Funny how it is always something simple that gives you the most headaches.
Had a Ruger 77 Hawkeye 338WM that set me in fits till I replaced the factory stock with an aftermarket stock with a full metal bedding block. I thought I had blown $150 on a Gun Broker lemon. The factory stock wasn't strong enough to handle the recoil and the action was trying to twist out of the stock.

Bonz- my guess is you a probably spot on. Ok by me- it means my VX II's and VX 2's are increasing in value. As are my K series weavers. Wish I had some FX Leupolds or I woulda sprung for a VX3's. At least thats what I'm tellin' myself. :) CL
