Well uncles stuck at work but little chili( my nephew )went out with his Dad this morning. After scouting for the last 3 days they had a 2 cows and a calf located . so this morning opening day out they went and By 8 30 am Chili put a nice cow moose on the ground , 2 shots out of his Savage 243 with the 100 gr PT got the job done. Darn some days I really hate having to earn a living , would to have loved to be there.

That is some fine shooting to take a moose with a .243 win  . Even with a 100gr PT. David will be sooooo excited, we'll never hear the end of it now. 6mms for everybody!

Congrats to the little marksman. He sure seems to be racking up a very impressive list with his 243. Well done!

Congratulations to Little Chili. He's done well. It was brisk here yesterday (-29 C, or -20 F), and I don't doubt it was brisk where he was as well.

That is a job well done Chili congratulations. The young guy again shows it is all about shot placement.
That Moose will help fill the deepfreeze this winter :)

Blessings,
Dan

Great news! Put em in the right spot and they all go down. Congrats to your nephew on good scouting and shooting. Good bullet selection certainly helps too.

Nice job on that young man and a great moose. Hard to believe it was a .243 and a Nosler Partition. I think I have something in my eye.  Now seriously that is fantastic for the young man and some nice shooting. Were any of those recovered????
Give him a big pat on the back from another .243/6mm fan!!
David

Thanks for l the props! He is a pretty darn good shot, and he has confidence in his ability with that rifle. We tried seeing how he liked my 308 win but the wood stock did not fit him and he just was not comfortable with it. His dad let him try the 06 and the recoil was just out of his comfort range. So we went with we knew would/could work and stressed bullet placement . Both shots were under 50 so that pt was humming on her pretty good. Proof is in the pudding I guess. Now the only thing is I may not be calling him little Chili for much longer , little buggeraint so little anymore.
