Sometimes you have to just scratch your head. I had 20 new 7 RM cases to fireform. Decided to use the dregs of 3 different lots of imr 4350, some hand me down 120g ballistic tips, and some old rem 9 1/2M primers. Looked at the reloading guide and saw the starting load was 62 grains. Loaded up the rounds not being to exact, had powder charges from 62 to 62.3 grains.

Accuracy wise, that'll work. I imagine there is sufficient velocity to knock down most game. There you go!

I can often do that well with one shot, sometimes with two and once in a while with three.

That is fantastic, now we all know that development will continue, despite,the outstanding group. Velocity is an illness, Even I would try to wrangle more velocity. A little bump at a time and quit when they start to spread out. My max load with the 160 with the same cases is 61 grains, but 60 also shoots well.

Im sure if it looked that promising id keep testing heavier charges but if all else fails, I'd take that and run with it. Hodgdons website says thats got AT LEAST 3000fps. A 270 win with 130 grain bullets at that speed has put a lot of critters to sleep over the last 90 years. Way out there too.

Friends 06 I'm loading for 180 AB and 414 @ 55 and 55.5 and good old IMR 4350 56.5 and 57 @ Nosler book COAL. This rifle has less than 40 rounds down it.

Man, I would be tempted to reshoot the 4350 and shorten then a .010"... That looks really good Jake. Might be some quick work there as well.

I am still debating whether I will chase this load anymore. I had no plans for such a light bullet in this rifle, I was just burning up free bullets and leftover powder and primers. It shoots 150s and 160s very well, and I have lighter calibers for short range deer and varmints. But it is hard to not chase the load...
