Hi
Been away a while....
Recently picked up some AccuBond 165g bullets to try in my 308WIN.
I'm hoping to check out how they compare to the Partition load I have loaded for years:
RP Brass
CCI 250 Mag Primers
Nosler Partition, 165gr spitzer
Win 748 - 47.0 gr
OAL - 2.810"
If I remember correctly, the 2.810" OAL puts me about 10 thou off the lands.

I'm pretty sure that I have read - on this site - that the AccuBond bullets need a good "jump" to the lands.
If this is so, how far off the lands does anyone here recommend I start ?
Thanks for your help,

Most here have recommended starting around .050" off and go deeper till they come in which could be anywhere up to .100" off the lands and could exceed that depending on your rifle.

I hear Accubonds and LRAB likes jump, weird thing is my .300 Win Mag shoots so good with .010" jump with 180 AB and shoots awful with the 150 ABLR with .010 jump in my 7 Mag. Going to try .100" jump with same loads and try again. Hopefully find something better.

I've been told the ABLRs like plenty of jump (like at least 0.040" jump) and do better with very slow powders.

.1 jump in my 264 with the LRAB, 90 gr AB in the 243. In one of my 25-06's it's .11 off and the other is .5 off.
I have some in 150 to try in my 308 but haven't gotten around to that yet.

I've been fighting with the 150 gr. 7MM ABLRs in three 7x57s and a .280 Remington. Good speed but lousy accuracy. Can't even go shooting until the range dries up from all the rain we've had.

I did get good results from the 165 gr. .30 Cal. ABs though. Groups run right around .75-.80" and I did take a nice juicy cow elk with the load. (y)

PJG a guy I know recommended something like RE19, RE22, and H4831. Slow burning powders with minimum 0.040" jump with the 150 ABLRs. These are what I'm working with in my 7-08, then on to 7 mag.
