Well, the last two days, I was lucky enough to get out with a few of my rifles and get some shooting in. I took my 338 Win Mag along with some loads using RL19 and the 210 PT. This past Fall, I really wanted to find a consistent load for the 210, but everytime I used it, something seemed to change it up. Well, I went back to the drawing board with RL19 and started slowly working up. I ended up getting up to 77.5 grains, CCI250's and WW cases. I also pulled the Minox 2-10 for another rifle and stuck a 4X M8 Leupold on the rifle for awhile, till I can upgrade glass a little more.
The target says 77, but it is actually the 77.5 load
This was the 77
I was pleasantly surprised, as the charges increased, the groups came together. It isn't a one holer, but then again, this isn't a plinker either.
I also had another round bunch of 250AB's, loaded in Nosler cases. These shot very well too.
I went back out today, in order to tune in the scope adjustment a little and got this group from the 210's. Calling it a day with that load..
Overall, it was a great time with the 338. I learned again, why I hate the friction adjustments on the Leupolds so much and NEVER touched them once I had them where I wanted them. It is a solid scope, but those adjustments would drive me up the wall!
Not sure on speeds yet, for either one, as my chrono is still at my buddies house, but as soon as I get it back, I will get some numbers. I am thinking right around 3000 for the 210's and probably about 2750 or so for the 250's.
