We went out to the farm Saturday to check zeros for this year's crop damage deer hunting.
We shot at 300, 400, 525 and 600 yards. Sue brought her Nosler M48 Mountain Carbon 30 Nosler loaded up with 180 gr BT's and I had my trusty Remington 700 338 RUM with 250 gr AB's and the Nosler M21 308 Win win 165 gr BT's. My buddy Bill used his Nosler M48 33 Nosler 200 gr BT's. We were all shooting Nosler seconds from SPS.
We all got hits on all the gongs, including the little 308 at 600 yards.
Here is the 8" 525 yard gong. Can you see the hit from the 338 RUM 250 gr AB on the AR400 gong? There are a few older ones too that were painted over from previous outings. It hits hard!
We are going to go shoot again but I think we are ready.

Looks great, Jim. You, Sue, and Bill are definitely going to put the hurt on those crop damage deer. For each you three, how long is your longest kill shot so far? Dan

Nice shooting JD, must be fun. Good luck with some long shooting over those crop fields.
Thank you Mark. We always have a great time. We always have a feast before we head out to the bean fields. The work begins after dark as we skin and cut up the evenings harvest.
The 308 Win will get some action in a few weeks.

We usually take 20-25 deer Ernie. We usually keep 5. We keep the back straps and the rest is ground with 80% beef burger. It's just the right amount for perfect ground venison burger.
The rest is used by my buddy and a list of his family members and friends/neighbors who want venison.

I've been very fortunate to test new Nosler bullets. I've gotten the first kill with a newly released bullet 7 times. Yes, it's a target rich environment.

I am glad you have that kind of relationship with Nosler. There is nothing better than actual data from the animals it was designed to be used on.
