Is anyone using the Lyman Gen6 powder Dispensing System? If yes how well does it perform? The Gen6 is listed in Brownell's for $239.99. Alternatively what system are you using and how does it perform?

Due to my oversight I left my old manual dispenser in Western NY state when I relocated for a while. Much to my dismay, now am faced with the need for an upgrade.. if I am to reload while I am relocated. How's that for an excuse? As always, thoughts and suggestions are appreciated. Thank you, Rol

I run the ISD Smart Reloader. Good unit for me and probably the best price I've found on similar units. Check out Natchez. I believe they still have the best price if you like them.

No info on the Lyman, sorry.

I am running the RCBS chargemaster and I have not complaints with it :).
My cousin does one heck of a lot of reloading and he really likes his Lyman. I am not sure what model but it would be around 5 years old.
I believe that all the systems are pretty good now.

Blessings,
Dan

I am currently running the Gen 5 and like it quite a bit. But let me tell you my story first before you decide. I ran one of the Gen 2 units for several years and was relatively satisfied. However, one day while reloading some 7 Wea mag, the unit had a hard time remaining calibrated and I had to recalibrate after almost every load. After loading about 20 cases, I looked into the cases to visually check the level and it was very obvious that something was wrong. The powder levels in the cases were all over the place. So I took my mechnical balance scale out and weighed the charges in question. My desired charge was 67 grains and I had some charges at over 73 grains. Very fortunately I was following good practice and visually checked the loads. Had I not done so, this could have been very bad indeed. So I sent the scale back to Lyman and they said it was unrepairable but offered me a new Gen 5 unit at a very reduced price, which I accepted.

So far the Gen 5 unit has performed very well and I have no complaints. The warm up time is much shorter than the Gen 2 unit and the cleanup is much easier. But you can beleive that I have my old RCBS balance scale right next to it and I regularly check my loads.

Thanks for the replies fellas.. The Smart Reloader was out of stock at Natchez. Brownell's has the best price and free shipping (code ED7). With the RCBS $50 rebate the charge master combo is $40 more than the Lyman Gen 6. I know RCBS customer service is good so I have the charge master on order.. Should be here in 3 - 5 working days.

I believe you will be pleased with the ChargeMaster. RCBS did a good job designing this system in the first place. You are correct that their customer service is excellent.
