I have a box of 300 grain Nosler Sporting Handgun HP bullets. I would like to load these to 820 fps, using Alliant 2400 powder, Winchester Large Pistol primer, and a 1.720 O.A.L. (load data from Lyman Manual 48th Edition)

I have data for my 250 grain Partition-HG HP bullets:

http://www.nosler.com/data44remmag250gr.html

Load Data
Nosler 250 Grain

250 gr. Partition-HG™
Hollow Point
Ballistic Coefficient - .200
Sectional Density - .194

------------------------------------------------------------
Powder Charge Wt.
in Grains Muzzle Velocity (fps)

2400

17.5 1258 fps Max.
17.0 1222 fps
16.5 1168 fps

------------------------------------------------------------

The
Partition-HG HP bullet seems to work at 1168 fps.

Will the Lyman load for a 300 grain Hornady XTP/HP work for a 300 grain Nosler Sporting Handgun HP ... will the Nosler expand at 820 fps ... is there concern for jacket separation, at this low velocity ?

The 300gr Sporting Handgun bullet should function well all the way down to an impact velocity of 700fps. Jacket seperation should not be a problem.
