Minimum Striking Velocities?

In your number four manual Rick Jamison indicates the 1900 fps should be the minimum striking velocity for Partitions, is that an accurate across the board figure? Specifically I will be loading for a 7x57 in a Ruger No 1 and want to use either 160 gr or 175 gr Partions. From your manual and others it looks like I'll be able to to get 2400-2500 fps with the 175 and about 100 fps more for the 160. Again, from your manual it looks like I can shoot to 300 yards with either of these and stay above 1900 fps. That is plenty for my purposes, I guess I'm just asking if I'm safe shooting to 300 or if I should limit myself to 250?
Once again thanks for making such an excellent product, I've been using your 180 NP's in my .308 for a while and think it is as close to perfection as we'll see in this life.

Yes it is. BT's are 1400 fps or so.

I have found that the SB is slightly tougher than the BT. The BT also has the plastic tip to help it initiate expansion wereas the SB does not

We actually have repositioned our Partition and found that 1800fps is the magic number.

As long as you have enough cushion on the low end you will be fine. I would however suggest if you gun likes them to switch to the 160gr. Just in case that buck of a lifetime is a bit beyond

Interesting, did you move it to the front or the rear? To the rear I suspect since the CT PT Gold's was moved forward IIRC. I plan on playing with both weights and making a decision after seeing what accuracy and real-world velocity for both turns out to be. Most likely I'd be about as well served with 140's, but then I could simply buy Federal Premiums and I'd have no excuse to reload.
Just out of curiosity what is minimum for AB's, 1600?
Thanks again for your replies.
