I'm a little late to the party but please let me extend my hearty congratulations.
I'll make my first moose foray to Newfoundland this time next year. Looking forward to a freezer full of moose.
Great looking dog too.

Vince, where are you planning on going in Newfoundland?

Joel,

My hunting buddy and I booked this hunt through Cabela's.
We went with Efford's as that's whom Cabela's was booking with at the time. If, or should I say when, I book another bucket list hunt like this again I'll likely use them, Cabela's, again. Their services are great. Doesn't cost more than the advertised price, and they even help with booking your airplane flight. They work great, so far, as a facilitator. As I delve more in to this hunting thing I'll likely do less with them but for the first big hunt I figured it was a good way to go and my hunting buddy voted for it. It took a lot of the leg work out of the equation.

I booked my elk hunt through Cabela's Outdoor Adventures also, with much the same experience as yours. I look forward to booking my next hunt through them.
Was your hunt with Efford's too?
Did you do the Lodge based hunt or the fly in? What did you think of the guides? Are they willing to hunt hard from can't see to can't see?

Sorry Vince! Forgot to check in.

My hunt wasn't with Efford's, it was with KR Hunting in Utah. But I booked the hunt through Cabela's also, and I had a good experience booking through Cabela's. Sorry to confuse you with my post.

I look forward to hearing about your Efford's hunt, though! I am interested in going to Newfoundland to hunt moose.

Thank you.
I sent you a PM as I too forgot to check in before sending it. :/

Once you go to Newfoundland for Moose, you'll get hooked! :) ...It's the Moose capital of NA, and you well love it, trust me :)

I fly out to Deer Lake on the 8th of November, man I can't wait!

Lou,

Best of luck and I eagerly await the report of your hunt.

But Newfoundland moose are so little! All the moose pictures I have seen from new found land wouldn't even be legal in alaska. I would look to BC and Yukon if you want to go in Canada. Alaskan hunts will cost more but we have the biggest moose in the world.

Check out this recent Alaskan monster 73" and amazing points

Wow, Bear. Three posts? Definitely getting the message across. Consequently, that is quite a giant, for sure.

Congratulations on a fine trophy. I am very interested in shooting at least one bull Moose before my hunting days are over.

Blessings,
Dan
