most accurate rifle you have ever owned or fired.

I still use the G1 value also, have killed deer out to 1350, I did hafta tweak the BC just a bit to make my chart match my trajectory. nosler claims a G1 of .531 for the 160 AccuBond, I run it at .62 to make my charts right.
RR

If you want to, try a .272 G7 bc value on your program and see how close it is to your chart I am curious.

I think you should try both and see which of the model works for your particular rifle. The .768 listed G1 B.C of the 300 SMK in my 9.3 twist barrel at 2835 is spot on. There's no need to tweak the B.C number to match the bullet trajectory. As a matter of fact JBM calculation using the G1 model is much more closer to my actual field result than my Exbal. With the 180 grain Berger for my 7WSM however, I will use the G7 model to see if it's more appropriate for this VLD bullet.

Savage Tactical 25-06.

100 gr ballistic tips with Reloder 22.
3350 fps and group was .051"

Sold it-----(Imagine that!)

Had a Steyr Mannlicher SSG in .308W around 15 years ago...had a Douglas match barrel & would drop in a 3" group at 1000 yards with standard military 7.62 Nato rounds.
The damn thing was just too heavy....now I'm only interested in what happens out to 300 yards or so with my hunting rifle. :)

Most accurate I have ever owned, after spending tens of thousands on custom rifles?...a factory savage 308 with accutrigger. I glass bedded it and get consistent less than 1/2 " groups with sierra bullets.
Most accurate ever fired? a friends 6x47...essentially the same hole, but not any better than many specialty bench rest rifles. for hunting rifles however, that savage has blown me a way and its UGLY !

BK, I believe it. I had a Model 788 Rem in .22-250 that would shoot under 1/8 inch 3-shot groups too often to believe. I believe that I paid about $89. for this rifle originally.

I have a couple of rifles now that will shoot under a 1/4 inch on occasion, both with BOSS devices on them (a .280 Rem and a .30-06). With both, I have gotten 1/4 inch, 3-shot groups at 200 yards. Most all of my rifles that I keep will shoot under MOA out to 300 yards. I do not keep rifles that won't do that.

I once scribed the first letter of my name (R) on a target at 100 yards with my 222 Remington 40x shooting 53 grain Sierra match king. I wish I had saved the target.

Took this picture at Lady Sarah Winchester's home in San Jose this weekend. Adolph Topperwein did the portrait in 1941 while employed by Winchester Repeating Arms using Winchester Lever Rifle.

an old 30-30 Marlin Mdl 36 rifle that is now my son's. It always put 'em right there, every time. Way better than my 7400.

Welcome to the forum, Jim. Trust you enjoy your time here and receive as much as others who share. Some of the old lever guns can be surprisingly accurate. Three of the Model 94s I've owned, and chambered in .356, were among such a group. They were not "one hole" rifles, but they did consistently deliver 0.75 inch groups which was more than enough to take a wide variety of game with genuine authority.

Most accurate I have had the pleasure of owning was a Savage Model 10 Predator .260 Remington. Groups at 100 were in the .25-.5" range if I wasn't slapping the trigger and I only got 1 chance to stretch it's legs at 620yds but 5 shots in a 4"ish group wasn't too bad.

Luckily I was smart enough to sell it.........
