A good mountain gun can be worth its weight in gold. That does look as if you won't be afraid to carry it all day and in steep terrain.

Very well thought out rig. I bet she is going to do everything you ask of her.
Thank you for the photos!!

Blessings,
Dan

That is probably the best mountain gun for the money these days in my opinion. Very nice gun and I must say the scope is perfect as well, hope it bags lots of animals for you :)

The lightweight .308 should respond well with the 165/168 class hunting bullets.

Love the scope!

Couldn't find any 165's at local Sportsmans Warehouse, so I got some 150's. Loaded Reloader 15, loads of 44.0, 44.5, 45, 45.5....All the loads shot within 1.25" at 100, the 45.0 load was 3 shots 6/10th of an inch...According to the book, should be about 2850-2900 fps...With a 200 yard zero only drops about 7 inches at 300. Very happy and think I will try this. A 150 AccuBond at 2900 FPS will drop anything this rifle will hunt - including elk.

That certainly is a great start and you are right that 150 gr AB can take out a lot of different critters. I bet you are happy that the other gun didn't work out.

I should imagine that 150 grain ABs will take about anything in the mountains of Idaho. I would not feel undergunned with a good 150 grain AB load.

Very nice! That looks like a super combo. I am with the others, that 150 load should do alot of work for you.

Again, very nice rifle and scope. Looks perfectly put together.

I like that fluted barrel! To bad they don't offer one in a LH version.
Personally I think the 150 gr. is perfect for the .308 and that's all I've shot in mine.

Very nice setup. If you decide to try 165/168's, 45-46 grains of Varget, depending on brass.
