My 30 Nosler lost its virginity this morning. 20221126_083658~2.jpg20221126_083716~2.jpg
Mcgowen 26" 10 twist. 200gr Berger Hybrid target (not the 200.20x), Reloder25 at 3150fps.

Shot him at 225 yards. He ran 25 yards, liquified his upper cavity. No exit but he had a good blood trail from his mouth.

That's a nice buck, congratulations!

Good looking rifle as well. :)
Thanks, I'm kind of vain about the rifles I put together. This rifle started out as a factory 6.5-284. It was ok but I'm kind of a velocity hog and wasn't really satisfied with it so I rebuilt it.

Changed bolt face to magnum, And new magazine box, SAV1 trigger set at about 18oz.
Replaced the Accustock with Bell and Carlson, it was kinda slick so I repainted it with Krylon Silver Marbelizing paint with Brownells Alumahyde clear coat, I bedded the action with MarineTex.

The barrel is bead blasted matte 416R stainless steel and I used Alumahyde black and cear for it also.
The brake is a PVA self timing, outstanding brakes. I always have ear muffs on my head and pull them over my ears when its go time, but this buck came out HOT! My window of opportunity was so short that I just didn't have time. My 4'×8' hunting blind usually amplifies the blast but my ears weren't even ringing. I'm not advocating anyone not wear hearing protection but these brakes are not punishing.20221030_093026~3.jpg

I need to check, I may still have some of those old 200 grain Hybrids...

Congratulations on a great buck. Your 30 Nosler crushed him.
My wife has a 30 Nosler. It's a hammer with 180 gr BT and AB. She shot a buck last weekend with a 180 gr AB and took out the top plumbing of the heart, DRT. First time I have ever seen a heart shot deer just drop dead, not even a quiver.
Great round.

Just curious what is her load and velocity?

This barrel is a 9 twist but I have 10 twist on deck just waiting on one of my other rifles to need a new barrel. I might try some lighter bullets as laser beams.

I bet 130 ttsx could see 3700 or so.
