My Favorite 45 Revolver

Nice revolver👍
Is it a new to you or one you’ve had laying around to tease us with😉

My favorite .45 revolver is a model 625 S&W. Revolvers with western style grips seem to move too much in my hands when I shoot.

Dad bought a matched pair, a 357 and this 45, both with brass grip frames long ago. 1970's or 1980's. He gave them to my sons quite a while ago, but my youngest son stores his guns at my place, so I take his 45 out every now and again for a little shooting. I figure it is "rent" for the storage space it takes up in my gun safe. ;)

I've loaded for and shot this Ruger off and on for 40+ years but it's never really been mine. I just borrowed it from Dad or from my son. Pretty funny.

My son usually keeps the 45 ACP cylinder in place as he knows I've always got a stack of 45 ACP ammo boxes handy. He is welcome to mooch as much ammo as he'd like. I like to pop the 45 Colt cylinder into it now and then and shoot the bigger cartridges.

Regards, Guy

I have had several 45 revolvers and I have shot the old Smith and Wesson 25-2 45ACP revolver with full moon clips the most. But recently, I have acquired a brand new Ruger Custom 45 Blackhawk convertible. This was special run, and mine is #45 out of 200 made. When I seen it in a local gunshop, I just had to have it. I have shot the acp cylinder in it the most, mainly because that's the caliber I have set up on my Dillon Progressive press. And it came with factory elkhorn grips which I really like and usually spring for on many of my singleactions. This particular gun seems to be finished and timed better than any Ruger I have owned in the past. And it darn sure ought to be, for the price I gave for it, but I don't regret it.
