With no accubrake she's gonna kick...on both ends

Had a friend that let me fire his one day. I was having so much fun I shot almost a box of shells. That was before I had any appreciation for what each shot cost.

Kick? You ain't kiddin!

I see a detached retina in my future with these huge Bees!

Don't do it, then you'll be forced to hunt them antelope with a bow.

BOW????

Brad you've known me for 10 years! You know me and bow and arrows!

POP, what load are using with the 260 AB? With my 375 RUM I'm getting 3160 using H4350, 260 AB, Federal 215 primers. Just curious...

I have not worked it up yet but 115 gr h4831 should get mr there easy. Man 3100+ with the 375 rum ? What pressures?

POP, using 98.5 gr. of H4350, no neck problems, no primer or socket problems. Working out of a Rem XCR. Absolutely great fun to shoot, and the accuracy is excellent. Getting 5 shots into a 2" box at 250 yds...

Have read all the lines about the quality of Rem's new XCR, you won't find me ever having a bad word about them.

With rifle, rings, bases, scope, sling, and magazine loaded she comes in at exactly 8 pounds! My hunting buddy has yet found the cajones to pull the on her, despite my assurances that is more than reasonable to handle.

Planning a trip to Zimbabwe for Cape Buff in early to mid 2008, 300 gr solids will be worked up by them...

Let know about your success with your loads...

I ran quickload for you:

It predicts 3112 fps and 70769 psi

Your absolute max should be 63817 psi.
So according to quickload you're hot.

Accuracy is my main goal. With the recipe I gave you I get consistant accuracy. But, if I'm that far out of safe, need to back off and maybe tweak a thing or two and see if I can still maintain good groups...

Thanks POP for the info

Remember Quickload is not gospel. Just a very accurate prediction.
Your max should be 95.5 gr H4350 at 3016 fps and 63476 psi pressure.

I developed a load for my buddy's 375 rum (Rem 700 BDL) 2 years ago. 99 gr of 7828 and 270 gr TSX. 2990 fps and a little over 60K psi was the prediction. Well he got 1/2" groups with that load and actual velocity was 2997 fps.
He uses that load for everything antelope, elk and someday Africa. That quickload works well!

POP, have noticed you mention quickload several time on this site. Think I will have to invest in a copy and try and make myself a wee bit smarter; hopefully without wasting a lot of components....

Thanks

Anytime buddy. Just e-mail me anytime.
