Aye, David has crossed to the dark side. He's no longer pushing one of those tiny cartridges, but a real thumper.

It is about time. Just hope he gives that excellent stuff called RL19 a try.... I tried to tell him a year ago that was all he needed, but those danged IMR guys are hard headed!

I just bought a Number One 9.3x74R and a Leupold 1.5-5x20, VX-3. Who'ed a thunk it?

That is as cool a rifle as I could think of. I have a rifle sitting at the smith right now and a 9.3 something sounds pretty good actually..

That is a whole nother thread though..

I think of all these crazy Gemans going to German South West Africa to hunt the Big 5 with the 9.3x74R and I get the feeling that: you got to be crazy to shoot an elephant with one of those but it got it done I guess.

The number one is the perfect gun for it. It the only way to go with that length of cartridge. I puy a Simms pad on it and am ready to go. the weather has got to cooperate soemetime?

Well she brought it home today, along with another box of 260gr accubonds! ..just put it on, and bore-sighted the same way I had left the burris sighted in..Oh well, back to the range on sunday, two weeks to go, and I even haven't started packing yet, not like me at all
