My old eyes were having problems with the open sights so I got at $50 red dot (Browning) and installed on rifle

using a one piece glued Weaver style mount for a long action Winchester

Daisy 499b, the most accurate BB gun made. Only 250fps, but is a smooth bore muzzle loading BB gun that is used for 5 meter matches.

I am certified instructor for 4H shooting sports and was privileged enough to take my 10 year old daughter and her team to Rogers for the National Match this summer and it was great. This is the rifle that they used, and is very accurate, although not very fast. I use a diaper box with crumpled newspapers in it to stop the bb when she practices indoors.

If you want to hunt with it then get a pellet rifle, among which there are many fine ones available on the market today.
