New copper tariff???

So I put a bunch of bullets in my cart at Hammer bullets website. I am ready to check out after shipping and handling and all that good stuff and I look at my price and I'm a little bit shocked. I guess now they have to include this



raw material copper tariff surcharge 15%



To say that I'm pissed off is a super under statement I wonder when Barnes is going to start doing the same thing or other companies using copper.... what the hell man?????


Needless to say I did not place the order. But when I Googled it it said that by 2028 it will be increased to 30%? I swear I have to start rethinking my hobby this is getting entirely crazy with all the new prices on primers powders and all the components needed.

I wonder if the e-tip will be affected. So far Barnes has not listed anything in this regard. That said I do know that hammer uses a specific type of copper that's got to be imported and for a lack of better terms as I understand it it's super purified to get consistent results I don't know exactly how to explain it but I did read it on their website......
 
I have read before like I said that there's something special about their copper and they had to use almost tons of it until they actually got to the point where it will expand all the way down to like 13 1400 ft per second and be accurate as it is
 
I got an email from Cutting Edge that they were also raising their prices. Unfortunately this is the times we live in.
 
I did the same thing with my Hammer order, but Hammers work soooo much better than Barnes in smaller calibers like 22-250, 243, 25-06 and 270. Actually Barnes failure to expand in game animals in my son's 243, and my 25-06 led me to Hammers. Whatever kind of copper they use it works! Hammers work much like a lead-free Partition.
 
I don’t mind paying more for products if the ROI is worth it.
For me the ROI is mass deportations, stop our slide into socialism, and a better quality of life for Americans.

I agree that Hammers are indeed very good in what they were designed to do. Much better than barnes in the smaller calibers. I just can't see eventually paying $130.00 for 50 bullets that are listed for 100.00. And the 130 is before tax insurance and shipping
 
I’ve never had a Barnes fail me yet. I have quite a selection of them on had now.
My son last year had an interesting experience with the Hammer’s 90gr AH in his 257 Wby.

What happened??? That's what I am using in my 257 bee at 3650 fps.
 
The bullet entered between ribs destroyed the vitals and the exit hole was caliber size between ribs again. The darn buck made a good 30 yds into the nastiest brush and grass without leaving a blood trail at last light , not fun.
Hitting a rib on exit would have made a big difference here.
I have them running 3700 fps , they did destroy the lungs but it was one of those things that sometimes happens.
 
I'm not into handloading yet. I wanted to get into it, although now I wonder when it would be worth it. Well I can't get into it right now anyway so I guess we'll see down the road. (shrug)
 
Saw the same thing Fotis. Held me from placing my order as well. I still have a good pile of 124 Hammers for the 270 Win. When those are gone I’ll figure out something else.
 
More than likely will save them for when I can't get any other less expensive option to work. When I started hunting with hammers, they weren't that much more expensive then Barnes. Now? They may as well partner up with Gunwerks for the high end crowd.
