Took my brand new ruger hawkeye .338 win out for a good test drive.
I had some relly good results once i got a feel for her.
I put 4 ,225 grain accubonds into .48. I had another 3 shot group at .82. My 1st 2 groups were not so good at 1.7 and 1.52.
But the avarage of 1.14 was good.
I sighted with a VX2 2X7 I borrowed from my .35 whelen, and i will need somthing new for this .338. Not sure what I will get but a good old 3X9 leupold is a prety liky canditate.
sugjestions are welcomed. My load was 70.5 grains of V-N160 under that AccuBond lit with a CCI-250.
Recoil was mild, But that is only 1.5 grains under max in the book I took it from.
I did not chrony.
My next trip to the range will be with some loads I did a long time ago with my model 70.
they are the 225 grain Hornady over RL-19.
Hope they do well to.
I am prety pumped sp far with this ruger...tj3006

Glad to hear its shooting good for you. Rugers can shoot with hand loads!!

I think theres a 338 WM in my future stoked w/225g AB's as well...

I think your right on the 3-9 leupold. Tough to beat.

seems like everyone that has a hawkeye are very pleased with the results. I have been convinced I have one on order. congrats on the good start. hope you may be able to draw the group down to .25

Congratulations on the Hawkeye 338 WM, you have yourself a shooter for sure. Take a look at the Leupold VXIII 2.5x8x36mm. This is a very bright scope, small size and 8x works well on 6" black bulls at 500 yds.
