New rimfire on the way

Just won a rifle on that super popular gun auction site on the interweb. Its a Ruger 77/22 mag, stainless and synthetic. They discontinued those recently in favor of the American. I always kinda liked the 77/22. Anyway I got the rifle, unfired in box for $480. Was a good bit cheaper than anything I have seen around here. Gonna throw a Leupy VX1 2-7x33 on it and see what happens.

This is my first gun in 22 wmr. I know its overkill for a lot of what I shoot with a 22 lr pistol but it should be fun. I got some 30gr vmax on the way and also some 30gr jhp. I also want to try the 40gr gamepoint as well.

What are some of your favorite 22 wmr loads?

Man, my old Marlin shoots the 30 grain Remington green tipped bullets really well. I used to shoot a bunch of the Winchester 40 grain stuff but this Remington Accutip stuff shoots amazing in my rifle.

The Winchester Super X was my favorite in 40 grain, hollow point and full metal jacket.

My Ruger 77/22 magnum loves the 30 grain V-Max load. Each rifle is different though. You are off to a good start by experimenting with a variety of loads.
