NEW TARGET CHALLENGE, CREATIVITY WANTED.

USMC- here is a target my brother and I threw together this last winter. The vitals are cut out of 1/2" plate and have some hinges welded to it. The plate is bolted to the body and swings when hit. Its been fun shooting at it as you can hear/see the vital hits easily at 650. Have plans to build a few more only they will be muleys!! PM me for details if you want.

His name wouldn't happen to be mike by chance would it? I think he may be hididng the location from you I live 7 miles south of billings and there's no elk within 30 miles of billings. Did he mention pompeys pillar?[/quote]

Jeff - His first name is Kevin...I know where Pompeys Pillar is, been by it quite a few times. I called him back last night to hear what he had to say about location and he wouldn't tell me. It is mainly hay fields that the elk feed in morning and evening and than go back to the canyons during the day to lay up. He won't give the the gps coordinates. He said to tell you that there are more elk than most people realize close to town. By the way, he filled his deer tag on Monday....with a 2010 Dodge pickup , 11:30 in the morning heading to Lewistown.

nice i had two buddies take elk out of pompeys this year mike got his last saturday on a lease near pompeys thought by some odd chance it may ahve been him. there are no elk where i live which is seven miles south of billings but there are quite alot another ten miles south on the crow reservation but you have to be native to shoot deer or elk on the reservation. for some reason bear and antelope are ok for the right price.
