New TGR and feeding

Hi All,

I received my new Nosler TGR in 300 Win Mag which looks great by the way. I took the stock off as the instructions say and then put the follower and spring assembly into the Magazine Box. I screwed the stock back on and tried to feed some rounds through the action. It doesn't feed well especially on the last round. The second round works great though. Some issues that I'm experiencing are:

1) Last round comes out of the magazine box cocked sometimes and doesn't go into the chamber. By cocked I mean that when the bolt goes forward the cartridge is pointing too high and doesn't feed into the chamber at all but rather completely sideways. This doesn't happen every time but enough so that I'm concerned.

2) After the last round has been ejected, the follower and spring assembly look to be sitting too high sometimes and the bolt can't close which leads me to really thinks something is wrong here. Again, this doesn't happen every time I cycled rounds through but enough so that it's a real issue for me. When this happens, I push the follower and spring down so the bolt can close.

I really believe that I put this together correctly but obviously I wonder. Is it possible that the wrong follower and spring were put in the box as it doesn't look like it is wide enough which is creating the issues?

Thanks for your help here on this one as I really like the rifle and want to get past this.

First off welcome to the forum. Your choice of rifles is indeed a great one.

Please contact Nosler rifle sales on Monday. They will make it right!

Will do.. Tx. I haven't shot the rifle yet but the paper that came with the rifle says it's well under 1 MOA which is awesome.

Welcome to the forum, glad you are here. Congratulations on your new TGR.
As Fotis mentioned, call Nosler on Monday.
It might be worth disassembling and reassembling the rifle just to make sure everything is properly seated.

Thanks for the response JD338, I did that as well a couple of times just to double / triple check. I'll call on Monday as I've heard Nosler support is 2nd to none.

Welcome to the forum, and congratulations on acquiring a great rifle. I'm certain Nosler will make it right for you, and when it is functioning properly, you'll be pleased to have that rifle. Consequently, you should be able to single feed it now and get in some shooting this afternoon.

Thanks for everyone's assistance. I spoke to them today and I'm sending it back in. Awesome service like every thing I've heard about !!!

I'm sure they'll get it fixed up perfectly. Please let us know how it all works out. Should turn out to be one heck of a rifle!

Hi All,

I just wanted to say that Nosler support is probably the best I have ever and I honestly mean ever dealt with. They put a new follower and spring in and it works great. Definitely very nice people to deal with as well.

If anyone is looking for a great rifle, I highly recommend buying a Nosler after my experience.

Glad to learn that Nosler solved the problem.

Have you had the rifle out to the range or hunting yet?

Good to hear that Nosler held up their end of the bargain. Didn't doubt that they would do so. It is a great company with some great products.
