I have had a nikon monarch 5.5-16.5x44 AO. I like the clear optics, brings in light good, tracks well. I had it on a 3006 for a few hundred shots, now I will try it out on a 300 WSM.
What I don't like about it is the AO is sticky in cold weather (not a big deal since you don't adjust it that much). I also don't like the limited windage and elevation adjustment (@42 Moa). Leupalds have much more adjustment.
All in all I like it, but I think I would think hard about the Leupold for a few dollars more. Also, I have heard good things about the BDC reticle.
Britz, thanks for the reply. I did go and get this scope and reason being I had another one on order, it was back ordered since the end of Jan(price was right), just called in and changed the order and its on the way. Going to put it on a 25-06 for my son if it don't work out I'll take it off and use it myself. Leupold was alitte out of his price range. For the money he payed for this could not go wrong, quality with it will be fine. Thanks again.
