I'm enjoying all these posts about hunting loads being developed by so many people on the board. Love it!
Then I trudged on over to the Rockchucker and churned out another 50 .30-06 cartridges, and another 20 .375 cartridges. Same old loads. Again. Sigh... No fun. Hah!
It's kind of funny, I enjoy load development, but here we are, my youngest son and me, almost ready to head out on our bear hunt and there's not a thing new... The rifles are the same as last time, the ammo is the same as last time.
Oh, wait! I did swap his .30-06 load to 165 gr Partitions instead of the older Nosler Solid Base bullets he's been using the past few years. Wow! Huge change there by golly...
Anyway, it's off to the range for a little practice with the same ol' rifles and the same ol' ammo.
.30-06:
58 gr H4350, 165 gr Nosler Partition, CCI 200, about 2750 fps from the old 21" cut down military barrel.
.375 H&H:
69 gr RL-15, 260 gr Nosler AccuBond, Fed 215, about 2620 fps from the Number One
Nothing new here. Move along. Nothing to see. Except a couple of real good loads that have proven themselves at the range and in the field.
Ah, practice time now, and bear hunting looms on the horizon! Cool.
