Nosler Cases

I have about 500 Nosler cases for a 7mmMag that I've had for little over a year now and I was wondering if these case are chamfered at the neck or will I have to chamfer them before I load them? These cases are Nosler seconds.

Look at them. You should be able to see if them are chamfered of not. It will not hurt anything if you chamfer them again, however.

and weight sorted


the seconds that I have seen were all of the above, except weight sorted.
I beleive them to be too light or too heavy out of spec.

and yes you can tell by looking at the neck if it's been chamfered or not.

The purpose of chamfering the case mouth is to provide an angled surface for your bullet to enter the neck without getting "shaved" on the way in. Some chamfer reamers are much better than others.

I prefer the VLD reamer on the right. Don't be afraid to over-do it. However, the mouth of your case shouldn't have a knife edge either.
