Hi guys,

Ok I have to ask. Is there anyone here that has a place were a couple of us can go and shoot Sage Rats? I want to take out my 22-250 and have a good time taking out the little critters.

If you have any information shoot me a PM.

Thank you,

Fritz

there are some areas around fort rock. but they may be rimfire places. you might call dinsdale. 541-576-2440 office. i have the current phone book for the area if you get a name

Dinsdale is in the Christmas Valley. They have a sign in sheet at one of their barns. You need to sign in each day, and sign out. Rimfire only. They have lots of center pivots. I've attempted to include a google earth image of the area to give you an idea.

A lot of folks talk about Burns and ontario as well. I have been to summer lake and had success too.

Cheers,

Glen

I know it is a long ways from home but if you ever get down this way let me know. There are quite a few places around here with healthy populations. :)

I think my uncle had them in the pasture east of the house when I was a kid. Kind of a rarity for eastern SD. To the point we were never allowed to wipe them out. They were excellent entertianment for us cousins with 22's at family events. Kept us out of the house so the "grown-ups" got some peace. Those WERE good old days. CL

I went out today and the little ones are up. You can usually knock 3-4 off the mound before the other ones catch on and move away. It makes for high numbers of hits in a day, today the rat count was over 200. :)
