It seems every year, sometime between mid September and mid October, we get the first big Pacific Storm rolling in. Oregon goes from dry as a popcorn fart to rainforest wet over night.
For us on the dry side of the cascades, geographically identified as high desert, we get rain as well and snow in high country. As daylight came on I saw our first snowfall of the year on the hill behind the house. Looks like 4500 ft line.
Watching the news over the weekend I realized many of you might be very concerned about us here in Oregon. The rain has put out the fires in Portland; however the Sesame Street characters are still out in front of the ICE facility. I’ve been told their costumes are made by Columbia Sports wear, a well known outdoor clothing manufacturer, so they are able to dance in the rain. Ice has retreated from the roof tops probably because their rain gear was made for the us govt. by the lowest bidder. :)

Once we hit mid October the four letter word (snow) does happen. This year we are still in a warm spell.
