Hello!

I am new to these forums. Thank you for taking a moment to talk with me regarding this information.

I just picked up some 160 grain Nosler Partition Golds with Moly coating for my 7mm Rem Mag. My question is what load data can I use? What kind of difference should I expect from the regular 160 Partition Loads I am used to? My 7mag loves to shoot the regular bullets with IMR 4831, Remington Brass and CCI 250 primers.

I have read that due to the moly coating, the pressures will be lower and therefore the velocities will also drop. but this also leads to being able to load more powder without pressure issues. Is this really the case?

Please advise me!

What experiences have you had with these bullets? Good, Bad???

Thanks so much!

The first thing you want to do is make sure you use the starting load in our reloading manual- Due to internal construction differences with Partition Gold products.

2nd- Make sure you clean your barrel really well, since moly coats your barrel.

3rd- Shoot just moly products, don't interchange, this will create a layer that can lead to rust. Moly requires a barrel be conditioned by shooting several rounds after cleaning and special cleaning procedures. Accuracy with non-coated bullets may not be up to par in a Moly conditioned barrel.

The moly does reduce fouling, pressure and friction between the bullet and bore.

JUST REMEMBER-USE MIN LOADS TO START.

Great bullet, great penetration

Thanks for responding. If I only have one box of these bullets and plan on shooting regular partitions as well, am I better off not shooting them? Can I thoroughly clean my barrel before I shoot the moly coated bullets and then shoot them? Can I clean the moly from the bore to then shoot the other "normal" non moly coated bullets?

Please help me! I don't want to mess up. Maybe I should have just stayed with the regular Partition.?

Thanks!

You will be fine if you shoot the moly bullets. All you need to do is clean your barrel really good before you start shooting them. And if you decide to switch back to uncoated bullets, clean your barrel again, this time with a compound like JB's. Works great, your barrel looks like a jewel when your done.

The main factor to remember when working with moly is not to switch back and forth. All you are doing is putting a layer of copper, followed by a layer of moly, a layer of copper etc.

Some guns really love those bullets once the barrel is conditioned.
