post your pet loads for the 25-06

I killed a doe with the factory 100g Etip load in this rifle last season.

Neck shot, down it went and never ex twitched a muscle.

Jeez that gun is ugly. I feel so bad for you that I'd offer to trade you even up for my cva singe shot scout rifle!!!!

I like RL22 with the heavier 115-120gr bullets and have had some good results with this combination.

Guy, I have not tried the E-Tip in my 25-06. The Barnes performed so well I just did not bother.

It was a pleasure to work with Mike Hudgins at Cooper

I had 30-45 minute conversation with him describing what I liked and wanted.
I had actually decided to blow it off after I got the Nosler TGR 280AI
But Mike thought it was a cool project and decided to go ahead and build it.

I must admit I was sort of scared to run it much this past season for fear of scratching that beautiful wood!
I really wish my dad would have been able to see it, I got it last August when he was in the hospital.

He would have dug it..

It is beautiful and deserves to see the sunlight from a deer stand. I am sure your pop's would smile about it. Nice wood will always be nice and a few hunting marks will just remind you of what a great rifle it is and how much of a joy it is to carry.

Very sweet set up though!

I should have included it is a T&E item and haven't been 100% on keeping it and thus paying for it..
I didn't want to scratch up a work of art and return it that way.

Was out of work for some time..
TGR is a side business to help cover hunting / shooting expenses.
Now that I am back to work and the family is being taken care of this gun is been put in the "mine" category!

I put together a rifle recently using an old rem 721 action, 25-06 sendero take off barrel, and a boyds varmint thumbhole stock. The very first load i fired through it will be the one i keep. 100gr NBT, 54.0 gr RL-19, WIN brass and CCI primer.

This is a 5 shot group at 109 yards(rangefinder).

wnc-coyote,

That is some fine shooting. You are to be congratulated, sir.

My "Pet Load"

25/06, IMR 4350 51.0 Grains, 87 Grain Hornady SP, COAL: 3.120 with WLR Primer

Shoots in the high 4's on a good day and the high 5's on a bad day.

My Other Load:

25/06, IMR 4350 48.5 Grains, 100 Grain Nosler Partition, COAL: 3.120 with WLR Primer

Shoots in the High 6's to Mid 7's all day long.

These are loads I have worked up for MY rifle and are very well below max. I have a very tight chamber and before finding these loads I was getting ready to wrap the barrel around an anvil.

Vince

I use the retumbo load from the nosler book- 120gr partitions, 53.5gr retumbo, wlr primer. I tried 55.5 and 57.5, but 53.5 was the best. Those nosler guys know what they're talking about. I killed a cow elk with this load this year.
