Powder Availability

What type of powder is Federal or Hornady using for their "light mag" loadings? Is this powder available for the handloading public and does the average handloader have the equipment available to create custom handloads using these new powders?

For example. They seem to get about 200 fps more vel for the same bullet. 3006 - 180 - PT.

Have heard that these powders are cooling burning and they can get these vel with the same PSI as a standard load or is that not the case and these are "hot' Loads.

I wasn't sure if this was covered before so I apologize if it has. I wasn't able to find anything during my search.

The powders are not available to handloaders. For us if you want to go faster, longer barrel, lighter bullet or bigger case.Rick.

If you want +200 fps over 180 gr 30-06, go with a 300 Win Mag.
You can also load a 300 Win Mag down to 30-06 levels.
