Looking to buy at least 8 lbs. Individual 1 lb. cans will cost $3 per Lb. more than bulk purchase in 8 lb can. Will the life of the individual 1 lb cans be longer than 8 lb can since powder in the 8 lb can will be exposed to air once the top is removed? Which would you buy and why? Thanks for any and all input.

Buy the eight pound keg; the minimal exposure to air won't hurt the powder so long as you keep it dry and avoid excessive heat.

Al, good to see you here again! Hope all is well.

Yes, I buy my heavy-use powders in 8 lb jugs. For me, that's Varget, H4350 and Unique. I like the consistency of having 8 lbs from the same powder lot.

I have a friend that is still using a jug, originally purchased in a 55 gallon drum, of surplus H4831 that he acquired in the 1960's. It still works just fine.

Really appreciate the input from all of you. Will order the 8 lb containers.

Dr. Mike, Your recent post indicate you are going to eat well this winter with your recent harvest.

Guy, Had heart valve replaced about 1.5 years ago along with a couple other minor surgeries. All were successful and I am doling fine. So much to be thankful for, which I am, and enjoying life. Anxious to see pictures and hear about your Africa trip.

Vince, A 55 gallon container of powder??? Wow! That would last a while.

Love keeping up with all you fellas through post on this board and send my best wishes to all of you.

God has been gracious to me. I am still looking for a moose, and a few other critters. I will be looking in another province for an elk shortly. It is good to see you posting again. I am so grateful for modern medical advances; glad to hear you are doing well.
