dont know if this is to open ended a question but here goes. I have always used IMR or H4350 to build loads for my 250 savage mostly cause it Dads favorite for his 7mm Mag and he loads for me. I can get 1/2 to 3/4 inch groups w/ 100grn BT's (40 grns powder) I get about the same size groups from 41 grns of powder over 85 grn CT's and some old 90 grn XBT's as well. I can shoot sub 1/2 inch to occasional 3 shot cloverleafs w/ Hornady 75 grn V-max and 40 grns of same powder. I had some old IMR 4350 and loaded that to 38 grns powder under 100 grn BT's that gave me a few cloverleaf groups but that may have been a fluke.

What I am looking for is more consistant load for my 100 grn BT's. Have tried some 4895 powder, that just dosent work. I have a 22inch barrel with a 1:10 twist. Obviously, my loads are O.K. but I like those cloverleaf groups (3-4 shots touching). I should confess that my range has a 90 yard Max so these are not true 100 yard groups. However, I think the rifle has true MOA potential.

I know there are other powders out there but I havent ever tried them. What have you had success with in the 100 grn bullet weight at 2700-3000fps range? Thanks CL

H380 has worked very well for me in my .250 with 100 grain bullets. Nosler #5 shows it to give the best accuracy with the 100-grain bullet.
