The latest iteration doesn't list any of the Powder Pro powders. They'll likely be in the next update. This current update was just released February 1, 2011.
I've played with the 4000 powder some. I'm not at all impressed. Overall I'd say it's faster than re19 which the article pretty much confirmed. Idid get some good accruacy with 155 nos j bullets and the mr4000 (3006)but no impressive speed.
It certainly isn't a high energy powder like re17.
I'd also have to say that since alliant has put out very very little info on the powder that they have already written off the future of it as a big seller.
I would recomend avoiding it unless you are a tinkerer like me.
looks like 4000 is a slow magnum rifle powder about the range of H4831. in 300win mag with 180gr speer btsp, fed215, fed case, 3.34min oal, 75gr compressed, 3110fps. also listed for the 300rum for 150gr. all data is basicly in the H4831 type area.
I've tested 4000MR in .300H&H, 7x57AI and 30/06. It pretty much follows IMR4831 for burning speed. I worked with 4000MR along side some other well known powders and where each load maxed out with IMR4831, 4000MR was real close.
If I was to experiment with it in other cartridges I would use IMR4831 data, start low and work up.
I am not overly impressed with 4000MR either. Not a stellar performance in anything I tried it in.
