Hi all,

Longtime lurker, first time poster…..I was wondering if someone would be so gracious as to run a down and dirty quickload request for me. It would be greatly appreciated. Might save me some $$$$ and headache, possibly an eye lol:

.223 Wylde chamber 18” barrel
Hornady 75 hpbt
Lake City case
CCI #41
Staball 6.5 and Leverevolution powder
2.250” COAL

Welcome aboard. I trust you will find what you are looking for. My QL does not list the 223 Wylde, making the possibility of a projection almost impossible. Also, Leverevolution powder is not listed as a propellant since neither Hodgdon nor Hornady were willing to release it for study. It was developed for specific uses, and thus unavailable for other uses.

Thanks for the quick reply Mike! If it helps, a 5.56 chamber can be used in place of the Wylde

I resent this. I have a bunch from my 30-30 that I was thinking about using for 7-08 but don't know where to start.

I was aware that some have used the 5.56 NATO chamber for calculations. I was hesitant to do so for several reasons. Nevertheless, here is a projection with 6.5 StaBall.

Cartridge : 5.56 mm NATO - 5.56 x 45 mm
Bullet : .224, 75, Hornady BTHP M 2279
Useable Case Capaci: 24.079 grain H2O = 1.563 cm³
Cartridge O.A.L. L6: 2.260 inch = 57.40 mm
Barrel Length : 24.0 inch = 609.6 mm
Powder : Winchester 6,5 StaBall *T*C

Predicted data by increasing and decreasing the given charge,
incremented in steps of 1.0% of nominal charge.
CAUTION: Figures exceed maximum and minimum recommended loads !

You are unlikely to get that much propellant in the case to reach maximum charge. There are other propellants that may permit you to reach a case fill consistent with your use.

Predicted Data for Indicated Charges of the Following Powders.
Matching Maximum Pressure: 61500 psi, or 424 MPa
or a maximum loading ratio or filling of 110 %
These calculations refer to your specified settings in QuickLOAD 'Cartridge Dimensions' window.
C A U T I O N : any load listed can result in a powder charge that falls below minimum suggested
loads or exceeds maximum suggested loads as presented in current handloading manuals. Understand
that all of the listed powders can be unsuitable for the given combination of cartridge, bullet
and gun. Actual load order can vary, depending upon lot-to-lot powder and component variations.
